The DO NOT CALL laws have changed political
phone canvassing in many ways.

It is important to realize that phoning for political campaigns, in fact for most matters relating to politics, are generally exempt from these laws.

But there is more to it than that.

At first, most companies that supply files of phone numbers simply removed all numbers on the Do Not Call lists, regardless of the representations of exemptions made by their users. This led to a growing problem with decreasing phone matches, since nearly 35% of all phone numbers nationally are on a Do Not Call list.

After nearly a year of discussion, our phone supplier began to release Do Not Call coded numbers, coded on the file as such. This is a big help to political campaigns. We now have more phone numbers available than we did during the ban. Since they are exempt, our customers can use the Do Not Call numbers if they choose to. Alternatively, they will know these voters object to being called, and can consider contacting them by alternate means.

VCS has reflected this Do Not Call coding on our voter file.

  • We can give you counts of voters with phones, both on and off the Do Not Call list.

  • We can deliver voter lists with the Do No Call information included.

  • We can deliver mailing labels for just those voters who are on the Do Not Call list.

The possibilities are endless.
Give us a call, we'll be glad to discuss them with you.
